How is my shipment send ?

Unless otherwise instructed by the client, your shipment will be send by DHL Global Mail.

Dhl Global Mail is not an express service. It is an alternative to the ailing South African postal service.All parcels go via Singapore and ONLY GET TRACKED UP TO SINGAPORE. THERE IS NO TRACKING AFTER SINGAPORE AND NO PROOF OF DELIVERY TO THE CLIENT.
Numerous parcels usually get put in a DHL Global Mail bag and only one tracking number is given to the bag containing  multiple parcels.

At the same postal fee you may request to have your shipment send by South African Post airmail. South African post ONLY GETS TRACKED UP TO JOHANNESBURG AND THERE IS NO PROOF OF DELIVERY TO THE CLIENT.

You may also request to have your parcel send by DHL Express. This service has full tracking. All permits or certificates by law have to be included in the shipment. There will be an extra charge. The price of DHL express service varies according to volumetric weight of the shipment and from destination country to destination country. The service is quite expensive though and probably only worth considering for expensive content. MOST UNFORTUNATELY DHL EXPRESS DOES NOT DELIVER TO PRIVATE ADDRESSES IN CHINA OR RUSSIA.

How do I know my shipment has been send ?

For DHL Global Mail we will provide you with a tracking number up to Singapore.
We can also provide you with a picture of your shipment with your address on it on request. Although this is not full proof that your shipment has indeed been send, it is the best we can do.

For South African post we shall provide you with a tracking number up to Johannesburg.
We can also provide you with a picture of your shipment with your address on it on request. Although this is not full proof that your shipment has indeed been send, it is the best we can do.

For DHL Express we shall provide you with a tracking number. On the DHL tracking page your details will appear  which are regarded as proof that the item has been send.

How long does it take for my shipment to arrive ?

This varies.

Mostly shipments from DHL Global Mail arrive within 3 weeks or so. Russia seems to take longer. Perhaps some 5 weeks. It is very difficult to give an exact transit time.

SA post has a similar transit time to DHL express, say 3 to 5 weeks. That is if there are no hiccups. There have been instances of strikes or lack of fuel and other retarding issues. If somethings goes wrong it may take months.

DHL Express normally delivers within a week. You will always know where your shipment is on their tracking site.
